Nakia Gown
Wedding dress sizing runs differently than standard streetwear clothing — and this is especially true in bridal sizing for plus-size gowns. Most wedding dresses are sized 1–2 sizes smaller than what you typically wear in everyday clothing. For example, if you usually wear a size 18 in jeans or dresses, you may need a bridal size 22 or 24, depending on the designer and cut.
When browsing our sale gowns, keep in mind that alterations can adjust the fit, but only within reasonable limits to protect the structure and design of the dress:
• Most gowns can be taken in up to 2–3 sizes (e.g., a bridal size 24 could potentially be altered down to a size 18–20).
• Letting a dress out is more limited and depends on how much seam allowance the designer left inside — generally up to 1 size.
• Altering beyond these ranges can compromise the gown’s fit, support, or design integrity.
Because all sale gowns are sold as-is, we highly encourage booking an appointment to try them on in person and consult with our expert stylists. We’ll help guide you toward gowns that align beautifully with your shape and can be altered to fit like a dream.
While we maintain our gowns with the utmost care, light wear from in-store fittings may be present. If this style has captured your heart, we invite you to book a private appointment to experience it in person. We’d be honored to help you find your perfect “yes” moment at Eleven Bridal Curvy Couture.
